6 And 7 Russell Street, Lybster

This is a group of buildings dating to the mid-19th century, located on Russell Street in Lybster. The Yarrows and number 3 Russell Street form a two-storey, three-bay return elevation. The construction is of coursed rubble with tooled margins, and a continuous lintel band ties the ground floor windows and doors together at both frontages. A blind window is located on the first floor facing Russell Street, with a modern door and glazing. The roof is slated.

Numbers 4 to 7 Russell Street adjoin the west gable. Numbers 4 and 5 are a two-storey, four-bay dwelling featuring paired central doors; the door on the right has been altered to a window. Modern two-pane glazing is present, and the roof is slated. Number 7 is a three-bay dwelling with an additional opening; a former door has been converted into a window between the main door and the right-hand window. Some original 12-pane glazing remains, but the building is currently roofless. All of these buildings are constructed from coursed rubble with tooled dressings, similar to number 6. A single-storey, three-bay former bakery is situated in the courtyard to the rear of number 7, featuring modern glazing at the end and ridge stacks, and slate roofs.

Since a resurvey in 1982, some modern windows and doors have been installed, and number 7 has lost its roof.
