Description
These are a pair of later 19th century cottages, forming an L-plan arrangement. They were built as part of the Sutherland Estate cottages. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone with tooled rubble dressings.
Glen Coul has a single storey and attic layout, with three bays, the central bay featuring a door concealed behind a later gabled and glazed timber porch, and a pair of gabled and bargeboarded dormers. Gairloch has a projecting wing to the south, with the entrance situated in the re-entrant angle. It features a wide gabled bay containing a wide ground floor centre window and an attic window above. Sliding multi-pane sash windows are present throughout. The roofs are slate, with tall corniced end, ridge, and lateral stacks, and bargeboarding.
