Description
Carrol, located at 16 Drummond Crescent in Inverness, is a building designed by W L Carruthers between 1888 and 1889 in the Arts and Crafts style. The exterior features snecked rubble and harling. The north-west front has two storeys, highlighted by a broad, advanced gabled bay with half-timbering on the left side. To the right, there is a three-storey bay window that is buttressed, and a recessed one-storey service wing is located at the north side.
On the south-west front, the building has advanced ends with a ground floor canted bay window on the left and a rectangular bay window on the right, both featuring half-timbering in the gables. The rear of the building is asymmetrical and gabled. The roof is covered with red tiles and has broad eaves.
Inside, there is a round central hall that retains good original details.
