Description
The Town and County Bank, located on Castle Street in Dornoch, was built by A Maitland and Sons in 1893. This two-storey building features a wide three-bay design constructed from coursed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. The central doorpiece is pilastered and corniced, flanked by tripartite windows. The building has two-pane glazing throughout, a band course separating the ground and first floors, and an eaves band. The roof is piended and covered with slate, with hipped and corniced end stacks. Additionally, there is a low retaining wall with cast-iron spearhead railings and square ashlar end piers.
