Description
The Clydesdale Bank, located in Somerled Square, Portree, Skye, was designed by Matthews and Lawrie in 1866. This building is constructed from tooled ashlar with polished ashlar dressings. It features two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay facade that includes a central door topped by a consoled bracketed pediment. The ground floor windows have segmental pediments, while the first-floor windows are connected by an eaves and lintel band. There are two canted dormers and corniced end stacks, all beneath a slate roof. A modern single-storey extension has been added to the north gable.
