Forbes Dispensary, 36 Huntly Street, Inverness

Forbes Dispensary, located at 36 Huntly Street in Inverness, was designed by Matthews & Lawrie in 1868. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a rusticated center on the ground floor. It has two storeys and is symmetrical with two bays, slightly advanced at the center. The entrance has a round-arched doorpiece with a carved keystone, while the ground floor windows are architraved and have panelled aprons. On the first floor, the center bay is adorned with paired Corinthian angle pilasters that support an entablature and pediment, with architraved windows that also have aprons. The building is topped with a cornice and blocking course, and it features quoins. The roof is slated. There are rear additions to the building designed by Alexander Ross & Son in 1913.
