Description
Arden House, located on the High Street in Moffat, was built around 1860. This two-storey building features a symmetrical facade with three wide bays that showcase classical details. The exterior is made of polished ashlar stone. The central bay has a recessed door, which is framed by a doorpiece supported by engaged Corinthian columns and pilasters. Above this door, there is a similarly detailed window. The outer bays contain tripartite windows on each floor, which are set within shallow linking panels. The ground floor windows have apron panels. Additional architectural features include a plinth, a moulded cill band at the first floor, an entablature, a parapet, and corniced end stacks.
