Description
This is an early 19th-century estate office with associated post office and stable/byre ranges, situated on the Welbeck Estate in Berriedale. The estate office is an east-facing, two-storey, three-bay building. The exterior is white harled, with a later gabled and glazed porch masking the central entrance door. It features 12-pane sash windows and end chimney stacks. To the south of the estate office is a single-storey and attic dwelling, serving as the post office, with an irregular three-bay layout and a single-bay, single-storey gabled addition at the east. Two gabled dormers break the wallhead, and there are ridge stacks. Flanking the estate office and extending to the rear is a single-storey stable and byre range, with a segmental-headed gighouse situated alongside the estate office. Late 19th-century rubble additions fill in the rear of the ranges. The entire complex is roofed with slate.
