Description
Achareidh House is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay double bow-fronted house that has seen significant additions to its north elevation by W R Davidson in 1907. The exterior is harled with stone margins, and there is a late 19th century porch at the center door on the south (front) elevation of the original house. The ground floor features 12-pane sash windows in the bows, while the first floor has 4-pane sashes. A canted bay window has been inserted at the ground floor of the west elevation. The house has a slate roof, which is semi-conical over the bows. The addition on the west elevation is two storeys and an attic, with five bays; the outer bays are advanced and include a mural sundial on the left bay. This section has a belcast slate roof with deep eaves.
