Description

Newton Court, located at the Newton Hotel on Inverness Road in Nairn, is an earlier 19th-century building that was originally part of a farm square associated with Newton House. It has been converted into dwellings alongside the Newton Hotel. The structure is mainly a single storey with a dormerless attic, which is illuminated by small rectangular grain loft lights. On the west side, there is a two-storey, three-bay dwelling house.

The south side features a central entrance flanked by a curtain wall that contains interior lean-to buildings, as well as two square towers topped with pyramidal roofs. The north side has nine bays, with a nearly central basket-arched pend that leads to three cart bays on the right, which are now blocked with windows. Above, there are eight corn loft vents. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with broached ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. There is also a modern timber glazed lean-to extension on the east side of the square.
