Description

Earlier 19th century; formerly farm square to Newton House,

now converted to dwellings in conjunction with Newton Hotel.

Principally single storey with dormerless attic, lit by small rectangular grain loft lights; 2 storey, 3 bay dwelling house incorporated in west side. South side has centre entrance

flanked by curtain wall (with interior lean-to buildings) and

2 square towers with pyramidal roofs. North side; 9 bays with

near central basket arched pend with 3 cart bays to right,

now blocked with windows; 8 corn loft vents above. All

coursed rubble with broached ashlar dressings.

Slate roof. Modern timber glazed lean-to extension to east

side of square.
