Lybster Main Street (Grey Place) 8

This is a mid-19th century terrace of buildings on Lybster Main Street, also known as Grey Place. It comprises numbers 2 and 8, each with two bays, and number 9, “Shangri-la”, which is a single four-bay dwelling that was originally two separate dwellings. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble, except for number 2, which is rendered with contrasting painted margins. Some original 12-pane windows remain. The roofs are covered with Caithness slate, and there are ridge and end stacks. The street numbers are derived from the Valuation Roll. The statutory address is Lybster Main Street (Grey Place) 24, 8 and 9 (including ‘Shangri-la’ at number 9).
