Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of buildings on Lybster Main Street, also known as Grey Place. It comprises numbers 2 and 8, each with two bays, and the larger dwelling formerly known as "Shangri-La," originally two dwellings combined into a single four-bay structure. The buildings are primarily constructed of coursed rubble, except for number 2, which is rendered with painted margins. Original 12-pane glazing remains in some windows. The roofs are covered with Caithness slate and include ridge and end stacks. The street numbers are based on the local Valuation Roll. The statutory address covers numbers 24, 8, and 9 (which is “Shangri-La”).
