Description
The Firs, located at 2 Dores Road in Inverness, is an Italianate building dating from around 1860. It is constructed of snecked rubble with ashlar dressings and has two storeys. The entrance front, facing east, features three bays with round-arched tripartite windows in the outer bays. The centre bay is recessed and includes a columned porch with a segmental-arched entrance, flanked by a round-headed arched window. The east bays of the flanks are designed as canted bay windows. There is a band course at the first floor level and quoins are present on the corners. The interior is lavishly detailed. The garden wall is made of ashlar, and there are gatepiers that exhibit banded rustication.
