Description
3 Pittville Street is an Italianate house built around 1894, with some later alterations. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure featuring stugged ashlar with polished dressings on the front, while the rear is constructed of rubble. The building has a base course, band course, cornice, and blocking course. Notable details include corbelled cills, stop-chamfered arrises, and shoulder-arched lintels above the first-floor windows.
The principal elevation is symmetrical, with a central door that has a consoled and corniced panel, a plate glass basket-arched fanlight above, and a moulded basket-arch architrave flanked by raised panelled pilasters. There is a window above the door on the first floor. The ground floor features tripartite windows in the flanking bays, while the first floor has bipartite windows.
On the rear elevation, there is an external staircase leading to the first floor, with a glazed door and a three-pane fanlight above it located in the left bay.
The windows throughout the building are plate glass timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a coped apex stack and a skew to the right.
The boundary walls are made of stugged ashlar with coping.
