Janitor's Lodge, 233 Tantallon Road, Glasgow

The Janitor's Lodge, located at 233 Tantallon Road in Glasgow, was built between 1904 and 1906, with a datestone from 1905. This Edwardian Baroque building is a two-storey school with a long rectangular plan and pyramidal roofs over four end pavilions. The symmetrical street elevation features three-window outer pavilions that are flanked by giant pilasters, with a decorative lettered panel positioned between the floors. The projecting flank bays are balustraded and contain entrances and stairs. The building has sash windows with a horizontal glazing pattern and is constructed from red ashlar. It has blocked deep eaves and finialed green slate roofs.

At the rear, there is a free-standing parallel low range, which includes a two-storey gabled janitor's house located at the northeast. This house has an arched door within a porch on its south flank. The playground walls are also made of ashlar and feature corniced square gatepiers, along with decorative wrought-iron gates and railings.
