Shawlands Old Parish Church And Hall, 1120 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow

Shawlands Old Parish Church and Hall, located at 1120 Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow, was designed by John A Campbell of Burnet, Son and Campbell between 1885 and 1889. This church is built in the Early English Gothic style and features a complex flank elevation, including a massive porch and the gables of the transept and hall, which were added in 1893 facing the street. The north elevation is inspired by Dunblane Cathedral, showcasing three equally sized lights, large buttresses, and a vesica in the gable head. The church has a chancel at the south and a belfry. It is constructed from light-colored Giffnock stone that has been cleaned, with slated roofs.

Inside, the church boasts a lofty interior with an open timbered roof. The aisle arcades feature alternating circular and octagonal columns, and there are leaded glass windows, including one by John C Hall from 1909 and another by Douglas Hamilton from 1950. An organ was installed in 1922. The property is bordered by a low boundary wall along the street.
