1518 Maryhill Road, Glasgow

This building, located at 1518 Maryhill Road in Glasgow, dates from around 1905 and is a tenement block with modern shops on the ground floor. The structure features a symmetrical four-storey elevation divided into two five-bay blocks made of polished red sandstone.

Above the modern ground floor, the outer bays have canted oriel windows that rise to a faceted roof adorned with finials. The central bays contain three windows on both the first and second floors, with the central first-floor window featuring a pediment. The second floor has aedicular windows that light the front of the bays. A notable five-light window with a bracketed cill is present on the third floor. The building originally had sash windows with plate-glass glazing, but these have mostly been replaced with modern pivot windows. A mutule cornice runs above the central bays, which are flanked by bracketed corniced chimney stacks, and the roofs are covered with slate.
