33-41 Sinclair Street, Helensburgh

This building, located at 33-41 Sinclair Street in Helensburgh, dates back to 1878 and is a three-storey tenement block featuring shops on the ground floor. It is constructed of cream ashlar stone and includes a cill and lintel course, a frieze with decorative paterae and festoons between the first and second floors, a cornice, and a blocking course that steps to the center.

The entrance elevation has modern shops at ground level. At the first and second floors, there is a pair of bipartite windows in the center. Fluted pilaster-mullions divide the windows on the first floor, topped with Thomsonesque capitals, and the pilasters extend into the wall. Above, paired consoles support a cornice that serves as a wide cill for the second-floor windows, with festoons placed between the consoles. The outer bays feature two-storey, slightly recessed shallow canted oriels, each adorned with festoons on the frieze and topped with finialled, canted slate roofs. Roundels with swags are positioned between the bipartite windows on the second floor and the canted windows. The date is carved in a roundel to the right.

The building has modern uPVC windows and a grey slate roof.
