Shawmuir Lodge, Pollok House, Pollok Park, Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow

Shawmuir Lodge, located at Pollok House in Pollok Park, Glasgow, was presumably designed by Sir R Rowand Anderson in 1891, as indicated by the date on the single centre apex stack. The lodge is a single-storey building constructed of ashlar, featuring rusticated quoins above a string course at cill level and around the doorway that faces the driveway. It has crests in elliptical panels, multi-paned sash windows, and a slated bell-cast piended roof. Flanking the pedestrian gateways are a pair of tall square gatepiers topped with urns; the northernmost gatepier is connected to the lodge, while the other is modern. The gateways are adorned with decorative wrought-iron gates and monograms over the lintels.
