Description

Robert Rowand Anderson, 1880. Single-storey and attic L-plan Gothic lodge house. Rock-faced coursed sandstone with polished dressings.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: single storey bay to right: timber panelled door in shouldered surround with piend-roofed timber canopy. Advanced bay to left with tiled, canted window to ground floor; bipartite, cusped window with roundel above; pointed-arched hoodmould.

Small-pane leaded glazing to upper sashes. Red tiles and terracotta ridge tiles to roof. Tall

corniced stacks with tall cylindrical cans. Cast iron rainwater goods.

GATES, GATEPIERS AND RAILINGS: decorative 2-leaf iron gates; gothic detailed chamfered ashlar gatepiers with cusped panels; decorative iron railings on coped wall, from East Gate on East Fettes Avenue to Prep School entrance to N.
