Old Town Hall, Pleasance Street, Pollokshaws, Glasgow

The Old Town Hall on Pleasance Street in Pollokshaws, Glasgow, dates back to 1803 and is a remnant of the old burgh buildings. It was likely truncated and stabilized when Rowand Anderson's replacement was constructed between 1895 and 1898. This Georgian building features ashlar stonework with a channelled design at the ground level. The main facade faces north and consists of a two-storey central bay with a pediment. There is an original base for a square tower that is set back, along with a clock stage, a deep cornice, and a squat spire that is not original. The building has narrow recessed flanking bays and is squared off in plan with three blank walls topped by a substantial wavy parapet.
