Description
Rowand Anderson, 1888, completed 1897 with later alterations. 2-storey, with 1st floor breaking eaves, 3-bay Scottish 17th century house. Harled with ashlar dressings.
NW ELEVATION: broadly spaced bays. Window to each floor of each bay with gabled ashlar dormerheads to windows at 1st floor. Ashlar panelled apron to 1st floor window to centre with finialled and pedimented dormerhead. Single storey wing set back to left.
SW ELEVATION: crowstepped gable. Window to each floor of bay to left, and at ground of bay to right.
SE ELEVATION: panelled door to left with pedimented doorpiece. Boarded door to right. Full-height projection to centre and (advanced further) to right; each with crowstepped gable.
12-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof. Wallhead stacks to side elevations, harled with ashlar coping; ridge stack to centre.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.
BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEPIERS: whinstone rubble with rounded ashlar coping; square-plan ashlar gatepiers. (See Notes).
