Description

John Bennie Wilson, 1886-9 (1888 datestone). Early

English Gothic, built as Swedenburgian New Jerusalem

Church, and occupying corner site. Cruciform-plan, with

apse, lofty nave, buttressed gabled entrance front with

wide porch, tall lancets and blind panels above; twin-

gabled transept to flank.

Bull-faced red ashlar, polished dressings; slate roofs

with red ridging tiles, swept-roofed ventilators.

Iron-railed low boundary wall to street, gabletted piers.
