Description

146 Southbrae Drive is a house built around 1890, designed in the Arts and Crafts style and influenced by the work of Norman Shaw. This two-storey and attic home has an asymmetrical design with clever gables and is situated on a slope above the road. The ground floor is constructed of red sandstone, while the upper part is harled, featuring a jettied, timber-framed gablehead facing south.

The house includes multi-pane casement windows and has a red tile roof with coped stacks. The south-facing gable has a centrally located ground floor window beneath a pitched roof, with a tripartite window on the first floor and a bipartite window in the attic. To the left of the gable is a porch with a modern door, and the main roof sweeps over it, with a gablet in the roof that includes a window. The west-facing elevation features a gabled design with a canted ground floor window similar to that on the south side.
