Description
Tower Dene is a prominent house built around 1900, located at 523 Anniesland Road in Scotstounhill, Glasgow. This two-storey and attic asymmetrical house features a conservatory and is situated on a corner site. The exterior is made of red sandstone with bull-faced and specked polished ashlar dressings. A bold angle turret crowns the building with a steeply bellcast and copper-domed roof.
The entrance is located in a projecting porch facing Anniesland Road, which includes paired arched windows and a scooped parapet. To the right, there is a projecting square bay with tripartite windows on each floor, and at the extreme right, a single-storey curved bay. The elevation facing Southbrae Drive features a full-height canted bay with four lights on the left side. The large conservatory on the south elevation has a red tile ridge that matches the main roof. All windows are sash and case with plate glass. The house has deep eaves, a slate roof, a red tile ridge, and shouldered stacks on the north and south sides, with a gable end on the west.
