8 Bruce Road, Pollokshields, Glasgow

This is a later 19th century two-storey and attic three-bay villa located at 8 Bruce Road in Pollokshields, Glasgow. The building features stone-cleaned ashlar and plate glass sashes. It has prominent brackets at the eaves and a slate roof. The central door is set within a round-arched doorcase that includes engaged columns topped with foliated capitals. To the left, there is a full-height canted window, while to the right, there are bipartite windows. The ground floor window projects slightly, with its mullion designed as a colonnette featuring a foliated capital and a bracketed cornice. The villa also has a shallow centre dormer and end stacks. In front of the property, there is a low boundary wall along the street, complemented by banded gatepiers with scroll-shaped coping.
