Leven View, 7 And 7A Bruce Road, Pollokshields, Glasgow

Leven View is a later 19th century villa located at 7 and 7A Bruce Road in Pollokshields, Glasgow. The building features "Thomsonesque" detailing and is constructed over two storeys with three bays, including a full basement at the rear due to the sloping site. The exterior is made of snecked and squared rubble with ashlar dressings, showcasing some incised ornamentation, particularly on the pilasters of the doorcase. The right side has a plain two-storey canted window, while the first-floor windows are adorned with recessed entablatures and pilasters that extend from the jambs. The windows are fitted with plate glass sashes, and the villa has bracketted eaves and end stacks, topped with a slate roof.

The gatepiers at the entrance are notably sophisticated in design and also exhibit Thomsonesque characteristics, suggesting that the architects may have been Thomson and Turnbull. These gatepiers are made of ashlar, square in plan, and feature distinctive elongated dome-shaped caps with incised Egypto-Greek detailing.
