Cairn Hall, 86 Hamilton Road, Rutherglen, Glasgow

Cairn Hall is a two-storey villa built around 1880, featuring "Thomsonesque" detailing. The building has three bays, with the right bay gabled and topped with a finial. All square-headed windows have distinctive moulding above them. The ground floor has two windows, while the first floor features an arcaded three-light window with columned mullions. The entrance bay includes a doorcase with a round-arched doorway and a hood. The villa has broad eaves with block detailing, end stacks, and a slate roof. It is constructed of squared rubble with ashlar dressings. Some windows have been partly re-glazed, but the original glazing consists of plate glass sashes.
