Description

141-143 Main Street in Rutherglen, Glasgow, is a mid-19th century building that stands three storeys tall. The ground floor has been altered for shops, while the upper floors feature four bays with margined single windows. These windows have consoled hoods on the first floor. The building is constructed of stone-cleaned ashlar and has plate glass sashes on the first floor, which include ventilators in the upper panes, while the second floor has modern glazing. Architectural details include an eaves and lintel band, a cornice, and a blocking course. There is a central stack positioned below the ridge and a cut-down end stack on the east side. The roof is slate and features rooflights.
