Description
This railway bridge, built around 1903 by contractor MacAlpine, consists of two parts. The main span features mass concrete that is clad in bull-faced red ashlar, with a single wide segmental arch spanning over the Cart River. The bridge has a parapet with castellated terminals. To the east, it has a dry plate-girder plan over Old Castle Road, which is complemented by latticed ironwork parapets.
