Description

Slateford Road Bridge in Edinburgh was rebuilt by W Allan Macartney between 1931 and 1932. It is a single span road bridge that crosses over a railway. The bridge is constructed of coursed rubble with an ashlar base course and copings along the road. It features ashlar piers that have decorative cast-iron lamp stands, although the spherical glass bowls with iron caps have been removed. There is a plaque on the northeast pier, and ashlar steps lead to the north towards Wardlaw Terrace.
