Description
The Mineral Railway Bridge at Jardine Hall was built around 1884 by contractor Robert Young. It features three flat spans over the Rival Annan river, with an additional subsidiary span on the eastern bank for flood relief and field drainage. The bridge is constructed with cross-braced and riveted steel lattice girders, supported by small, mostly "T"-section beams with flat braces.
The main bridge has bull-faced red ashlar abutments and piers, along with plain iron handrails. The terminal piers are made of polished red ashlar and topped with flat pyramidal caps. The original rails have been replaced by a timber deck. The subsidiary span is treated in the same manner but does not have piers.
