Description
Jardine Hall Lodge is an asymmetrical single-storey lodge designed by probably E J May of London, dated 1901. The building features red ashlar stonework with stugged coursers and polished dressings. It has a steep, swept-eaved slate roof, which includes a large axial stack that is also dated.
At the southeast corner, there is an arcaded open porch. The south-facing window, which overlooks the driveway, is canted and features mullions and transoms, along with a key-blocked circular light. Additional mullioned and transomed windows are located on the east flank and in the north wing. A walled court adjoins the north wing and connects to a modern harled porch in the west re-entrant angle. The lodge has blocked wide eaves.
The gatepiers consist of six tall, corniced, and finialed square rusticated ashlar piers, which are linked by low quadrants with wrought-iron railings. The massive inner piers support consoled tall obelisks and are adorned with elaborately ornamented wrought-iron gates.
