Description
The building is a former schoolhouse located in Millhousebridge, dating from the earlier 19th century. It is a single-storey cottage featuring a clock tower above the porch. The structure is constructed of bull-faced coursed red ashlar with polished margins and dressings.
On the west elevation, there are three bays, with a central square porch that has a bipartite design. Above the porch is a domed and finialed chamfered square clock-tower stage. The outer bays contain single sash windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern. The south flank has three bays and possibly a full-width rear extension to the east. The building features a continuous eaves course, end stacks, and is roofed with graded slates.
The schoolhouse is set behind a low ashlar retaining wall, which is complemented by iron railings and square gatepiers.
