Description

The Lake Bridge is probably late 18th century and serves as a roadbridge, featuring a single segmental arch over Archwood Lake. It is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings. The arch and spandrels are recessed, and ramped parapets are carried over on stone block corbels. The bridge is unusually architectural for its scale. The architectural detail of blocking, which is relatively widespread from the late 18th century, is similar to examples seen at Ae bridge and Wamphray bridge, both designed by Alexander Stevens. The statutory address is Lake Bridge (minor road over Archwood Lake).
