46 and 48 Buccleuch Street is a tenement building dating from around 1843. It stands three storeys tall and features 28 bays divided into three sections with a layout of 8-10-10. The façade includes eight architraved doorways with fanlights and cornices supported by consoles. All the windows are sash and case style, set within architraves, with cornices on the ground and first floors and a cill course on the first floor. The windows primarily have a 12-pane glazing pattern. The building has gable and ridge stacks, although some have been removed, and an eaves cornice.

The return to Dalhousie Street features three storeys and a basement, with a single sash and case window on each floor. The return to Scott Street has six architraved openings, including two sash and case windows and four blind openings, along with some cast-iron railings.
