Description
Late 19th century. Crow-stepped single storey gate lodge, originally to Ross Hall, with gateway. All stugged and snecked red ashlar, polished dressings, dummy short-holes. LODGE is L-plan, 3-bay elevation to
drive with inner door, canted bay right with facetted roof, 2 decorative timber dormers; prominent axial stack, 4 clustered cirulcar flues; street elevation also 3 bays, inner entrance bay carried upwards as square turret with steep pyramidal roof, curved 3-light window in gabled left bay; ball-finialed gables; iron roof finials, slate roofs with fish-scale banding, red fireclay cresting. Pair massive circular driveway GATEPIERS with conical caps, round-arched flanking gateways, heavy decorative wrought-iron gates; castellated quadrants, outer piers with pyramidal caps.
