24 Kirk Road, Carmunnock, Glasgow

24 Kirk Road in Carmunnock, Glasgow, is a single-storey, three-bay cottage dated 1762, as indicated on the door lintel. It is the southernmost of two adjoining cottages that share a common gable. The exterior is white-harled with contrasting exposed ashlar dressings. It features sash windows and an off-centre doorway with a modern door. The windows are of unequal size, with the narrow right bay window likely enlarged in the 19th century. The lintels of the windows touch the eaves, and there is a rebuilt end stack over the south gable. The north gable has been raised when the adjoining cottage was heightened. The roof is slate. The south gable has a boulder base due to the slope of the ground and features a pair of windows along with two projecting stones in the gable-head. The rear elevation, which faces the kirkyard, has a concrete-margined 20th-century window set in an otherwise blank and rubble-walled surface, along with a modern rooflight.
