Description

The North Gatepiers, located at 14 Victoria Park Drive North in Glasgow, were constructed in 1887 by Walter MacFarlane and Co at the Sarcen Foundry. These gatepiers were gifted to the Burgh of Partick by the Ladies of Partick. They consist of four cast-iron corniced gatepiers leading into Victoria Park. The piers are panelled with insets featuring Queen Victoria medallions on the outer piers and coats of arms on the inner piers. The outer gates are topped with crown finials, and there are lantern lamps mounted on cast-iron stands on the inner piers.
