Description

The gates, piers, and railings at the entrance to Queen's Park were built in the late 19th century. They feature three tall cast iron piers that mark both the carriageway and pedestrian entrances. The piers are panelled and include plinths, cornices, square moulded caps, and ball finials. The gates are adorned with wrought iron scrollwork and central medallions displaying the arms of Chesterfield. The quadrant railings are topped with spear head finials. Queen's Park was established in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee.
