Clock, Victoria Park

The Clock in Victoria Park was built in 1888 and features a clock made by Alexander and Son from Glasgow. It is a painted cast-iron, four-faced clock mounted on a slender, fluted Corinthian column. The clock stands on a corniced, square-plan pedestal that has inscriptions on two sides reading "NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION" and "VICTORIA REIGNS 1887." The remaining sides display the Partick Burgh Coat of Arms and a decorative floral motif. The clock has round, white faces with black Roman numerals. Additionally, there are four elaborate lamp brackets with foliage motifs extending from the base of the capital.
