Description
This building, located at 361, 363, and 365 St George's Road in Glasgow, dates from around 1830 and is the last remaining villa in the area. It is a two-storey structure with a basement and features three bays, along with low wings attached to the north and south. The exterior is made of ashlar stone, with a channelled finish at the ground level, clasping angle pilaster strips, and stugged sides and rear.
The entrance has a central Doric columned doorpiece, and all windows are architraved. The ground floor windows have cornices, while the first-floor windows are lugged and topped with shallow pediments. The ground floor includes tripartite glazing, and the upper floor features lying-pane sash and case windows. A notable feature is the good cast-iron balcony on the first floor. The building has a cornice and a blocking course, with a slate roof and end stacks.
There is a later rear wing that includes a canted bay, and the basement area is enclosed by later 19th-century cast-iron railings. Additionally, there is a cast-iron lamppost with a Greek key pattern located at the northeast angle of the property, along with some cast-iron railing present.
