Description

Ninian MacWhannel, 1924, and built as synagogue, converted to flats 2008.

Basically Romanesque in style; artificial stone wall

surfaces, painted as red ashlar. Symmetrical 2-storey

wide tripartite facade to Falloch Road with taller main

roof gable set behind, the centre treated as narrow nave-

and-aisles front with triple centre entrance, taller and

gabled outer ranges; tall apse, visible from Lochleven

Road, has glazed semi-domed roof. Brightly painted interior,

timber furnishings varnished; round-arched aisle arcades

on circular columns with foliated capitals, gallery fronts

set between.
