Langside Public Library, 2 Sinclair Drive, Glasgow

Langside Public Library, located at 2 Sinclair Drive in Glasgow, was designed by George Simpson and completed in 1913. This single-storey public library is built from red ashlar and is situated on a corner site, featuring symmetrical street elevations in the Edwardian baroque style. The entrance elevation on Sinclair Drive showcases three-bay advanced ends, a pilastered centre, and a pedimented doorway. The Battlefield Road side has five regular bays, a continuous entablature, and a deep parapet that encloses piended slate roofs, topped with a decorative axial ventilator.

Internally, modern alterations have created an open-plan layout, and the rear wing has also been updated. The library is enclosed by a low wall with intermittent piers, and there is a panel set at the angled street corner.
