Description
52 Charlotte Street in Glasgow is a two-storey townhouse with attics, built around 1790 in the style of Robert Adam. The building features a symmetrical classical design with a five-bay frontage. The central three bays are slightly advanced and topped with a pediment. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with raised angles and a basecourse, and has architraved openings. The central doorway is consoled and includes an incised frieze. All windows are single light, although the glazing has been removed. Above the central three bays, there is a mutuled pediment with an oculus in the tympanum. The building has raised skews, end stacks, and a stack at the gable apex, all covered by slate roofs. The rear elevation features a central round-arched stair light.
