Description

The Hollies is an 18th-century, two-storey, three-bay house located on Low Causeway in Culross. The building features painted ashlar margins, with eaves, a base course, and quoins. It has a pilastered doorpiece and is finished with cream-colored harling.

The north elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a central door with a pilastered and corniced doorpiece, flanked by windows. There are three first-floor windows that hug the eaves. The east elevation is attached to Thistle Cottage, while the south elevation, partially visible as of 2001, has two first-floor windows on the left and a later pitched two-storey extension on the right, which includes central first-floor windows. The west elevation is attached to Ailie House.

The house features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a rooflight at the front, and a timber panelled, two-leaf door. The roof is pitched, with slates on the front and clay pantiles on the rear, and includes gable apex stacks with circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 2001. The front boundary is marked by a low stone wall with painted ashlar coping stones and a central gate.
