General, Little Causeway, Culross

Little Causeway in Culross features cobbled street surfaces with a variety of patterns. The Cross is adorned with blue and red cobbles arranged irregularly. Hagg's Wynd also showcases blue and red cobbles in an irregular pattern, with a stone sett drain to the west and larger stones in the center. Stone setts can be found on Back Lane leading towards Erskine Brae and Hagg's Steps, which also has stone setts. Back and Mid Causeways are similarly paved with blue and red cobbles in an irregular pattern, with blue whin setts near The Cross. There are stone sett drainage channels on either side of the road, and the central section is slightly raised with larger central stones known as the croon o' the causie. The Sandhaven area features irregularly laid blue and red cobbles. Little Causeway itself has blue and red cobbles arranged irregularly, with a central line of regularly laid cobbles and stone drainage channels on either side. The stones slope from the base of Cunninghame House at the bottom of Little Causeway to a drain below. The cobbles continue towards the front of Stephen Memorial Hall on Back Street. Ailie's Vennel and the area in front of Ailie House feature regularly laid setts.
