Description

Late 18th century. 2-storey, 3-bay house (now post office and shop to ground floor; flat to W and above). Black painted ashlar margins, eaves course and vertical margins to principal elevation. Harled.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: cast-iron letter-box in wall to far left; GVIR by WT Allen & Co, London. Window to right and far right. Central flat-roofed porch; windows to either return; 2 doors. 3 evenly spaced 1st floor windows. Door attached to far left leads to garden/outhouse.

E ELEVATION: plain elevation.

S ELEVATION: partially seen; ground floor window to far left and far right; 1st floor windows centre above. Central flat-roofed extension; small ground floor window to right; large 1st floor window to centre. Small pitched outhouse attached to left; window to left and to right return.

W ELEVATION: wall obscures ground floor; plain gable above.

4-pane timber sash and case windows to front; modern fenestration to rear. Rear rooflight to right. Timber boarded doors. Pitched slate roof. Coped gable apex stacks; circular cans. Raised skews; scroll skewputts to N. Tall square chimney to outhouse.
