Description

Aralia Cottage is an early to mid-19th century L-plan cottage with one and a half storeys, constructed from stugged ashlar. It features chamfered surrounds for the windows and doors, as well as base and eaves courses.

On the north elevation, there is an advanced two-bay gable to the left, with a door on the left side and a two-pane fanlight above it. A window is located to the right, and there is a central window on the first floor. To the right, a three-bay section is set back, which includes a central door flanked by windows.

The east and south elevations were not visible in 2001. On the west elevation, there is a first-floor window to the left, and the cottage is adjoined to The Hollies on the right.

The cottage predominantly features 12-pane timber sash and case windows and timber panelled doors. The roof is pitched with slate on the north and west sides, and pantiles on the rear and east. It has raised skews, a thistle finial on the north gable, a gable apex stack on the west gable, a corniced ridge stack on the three-bay section, and polygonal chimney cans.

The interior was not seen in 2001.
