Description

Leven Bridge, built by the Brandon Bridge Building Company in Motherwell in 1908, is a bowed iron whipple truss bridge. It features a single arched, riveted lattice truss supported by ashlar abutments that extend into flat-coped piers. There is a dry, flat-arched metal plate extension that continues over the pedestrian path, and the bridge has a ramped approach.
